How to Care for your rolling pin: Do not leave in water or put in the dishwasher. Water warps and cracks wood. Wipe with a damp cloth & wipe dry after each use before storing.
To prevent wood from drying or cracking: Food Grade Mineral Oil is the best type of oil for protecting wooden kitchen tools. Wipe rolling pin with a thin coat of mineral oil using a soft cloth & let dry. Do not use Vegetable Oil or Olive Oil as it will turn rancid. You can purchase Mineral Oil at your local grocery or drug store.
Remember, this is a toy but still functional for a young child. Older children will likely want one more like Mom's. They are heavier duty having more weight, but come with a heftier price tag. Sizes range generally from the 11 inch to 13 inch for the older child.
